Terms of Use
Last updated: August 4, 2026
By using spellingbeegame.com you agree to these terms. Playing the game is free and always will be. Some extras, such as the printable puzzle packs, are paid, so these terms also cover what you buy, what you may do with it, and how to get your money back.
Who you are dealing with
This site is operated by the publisher of spellingbeegame.com. If you need to reach us about anything in these terms - an order, a refund, a complaint, or a legal notice - use the contact page or email us. We read every message and aim to reply within two business days.
Using the free game
The Spelling Bee game, the daily puzzle, the archive, the unlimited and themed modes, the guides and the leaderboard are provided free of charge for personal use. You may play as much as you like. Please do not attempt to disrupt, overload, scrape at scale, or otherwise abuse the service or its leaderboard.
Buying a printable pack
A printable pack is a one-off purchase, not a subscription: you pay once and nothing recurs. After payment you are taken straight to a print-ready page containing the worksheets and answer keys, which you can print or save as a PDF from your browser. There is no account to create - keep the link you land on and you can return and reprint it whenever you like. We will keep that link working for as long as the site operates, and if we ever have to retire it we will give reasonable notice by email where we have an address for you.
Your right to change your mind
If you are a consumer in the EU or the UK you have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase of digital content. Delivery here is immediate, and we could ask you to give that right up in exchange - we do not. You keep the full 14 days: if a pack does not work for you, tell us within 14 days of purchase and we will refund it in full, no explanation needed. Refunds are returned to the original payment method and usually appear within five to ten business days.
What you may do with the sheets
When you buy a pack you get a personal, non-exclusive, perpetual licence to print unlimited copies for your own use - your household, your own classroom, your own tutoring group or library session. You may not resell the sheets, redistribute the files, post the pack link publicly, share it with other institutions, or republish the puzzles or word lists as your own product. If you want to use a pack across a whole school or organisation, get in touch and we will sort out a licence that fits.
Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe directly and are never seen or stored by us. Prices are shown in US dollars; if your card is in another currency your bank sets the exchange rate and may add its own fee. Where sales tax or VAT applies to your purchase it is handled at checkout and shown before you pay.
Daily puzzle emails
The daily puzzle email is entirely optional. We only send it after you confirm your address by clicking the link in the confirmation email, we send nothing else to it, and every message carries a one-click unsubscribe link. You can also unsubscribe at any time by contacting us.
Leaderboard conduct
When submitting a score, choose a handle that is not offensive, impersonating, or infringing. We keep one entry per player per puzzle and store the best score. We may remove any leaderboard entry that breaks these rules or appears fraudulent, at our discretion.
Intellectual property
The site design, code, branding, curated content, the printable worksheets and their layout are owned by spellingbeegame.com. Word lists are derived from openly available dictionaries. You may share links to puzzles freely; you may not copy the site or sell its content.
No warranty
The free parts of the site are provided as is, without warranties of any kind. We do our best to keep the game accurate and available, but we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. This does not affect the statutory rights you have as a consumer in relation to anything you have paid for.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for anything connected with this site is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded under the law that applies to you.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time, and the date at the top shows when they last changed. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms. Changes never apply retroactively to a purchase you have already made - the terms in force when you bought a pack are the ones that govern it.
