By the Spelling Bee Game team

A Spelling Bee rank progress bar climbing from Beginner, past the Genius mark at seventy percent, up to Queen Bee at one hundred percent, marked with a crown.
Genius is reached at 70% of the points. Queen Bee means finding 100%.

What Queen Bee actually means

Queen Bee is the top rank in the Spelling Bee Game, awarded for reaching 100% of a puzzle's available points. It sits above Genius, which is reached at 70%, so the gap between the two is the hardest stretch of every puzzle - the last 30% of points is where the rare and tricky words hide.

Because the rank ladder is based on a share of the total points, Queen Bee requires every single word on the board, including all pangrams. There is no partial credit at the top: 99% is still Genius.

Get the pangrams first

Each pangram carries a seven-point bonus, so the pangrams are worth far more than their length suggests. Lock in every pangram before you grind the short words - it is the fastest way to move the score bar and it guarantees you are not leaving the biggest points on the table.

If you are not sure what a pangram is or how to spot one quickly, the dedicated pangram guide walks through the technique step by step.

Work the prefixes and suffixes systematically

Most of the words you are missing near the end are not exotic - they are variations you simply have not tried yet. Cycle through prefixes such as re-, un-, pre-, out- and over-, and suffixes such as -ing, -ed, -er, -ly and -ion. Whenever a base word scores, test every ending the letters allow.

Doubled letters are a common blind spot. Letters can be reused, so a single L on the board still lets you play words with -ll, and the same goes for -ss, -oo and -ee. Whole families of words open up once you remember this.

Use the hint panel as a map

When you are close to Queen Bee, the hint panel is the perfect finishing tool. It shows how many words remain at each length and which two-letter starts still have words left, all without revealing the answers. Target the lengths and starting pairs that still show a count.

For example, if the grid says there is still a six-letter word starting with TR, you can focus your search instead of guessing at random. This turns the final stretch from a frustrating hunt into a checklist.

Build a finishing routine

When the obvious words dry up, shuffle the outer letters and read the board fresh. Scan length by length - all the four-letter options, then five, and so on - rather than jumping around. If you stall completely, step away for a few minutes; a short break often surfaces the word that was hiding in plain sight.

Every puzzle in the Spelling Bee Game is fully solvable, so Queen Bee is always reachable. Practising these habits in unlimited mode makes them automatic, and the daily puzzle starts to feel a lot more winnable.
